Color is a form of visual expression. We can express our feelings, views, aesthetic values only with colors. We can transform a plain, cube form into a statue only by using color. With color, we can add different flavors and emotions to our lives.
I believe that the combination of color with form ensures the integrity of the design, and therefore I prefer to use bold colors most of the time, of course, to the extent that we can convince our clients. The most important point to be aware of here is not to use the wrong color scheme while doing that. The misuse of color can affect the permanence of the designs in a negative way, which is, in fact, a very common mistake.
Conversely, avoiding the use of color can bring about monotony and mediocrity resulting in dull designs playing safe. The interior design work we have executed
in the Zorlu Center show apartment can be an example of the use of bold colors in the interior. While using neutral colors in the main shell, we aimed to create a striking space freely using assertive colors in furniture and accessories. The result was quite successful.
effects of color on buildings
The use of color in buildings is more effective than indoor use. Italians say: “The
facade of your building belongs to your neighbor, not you.” You do not perceive the
color effect of the building in which you live, but your environment is exposed this effect much more than you are. Therefore, the use of color on building facades requires much more technical background and culture. If you don’t have them, your courage will bring bad consequences, which is very common in our country.
Especially in rural areas, it is possible to come across many examples of misuse
of color. For this reason, I recommend paint companies to be more careful when
creating exterior color charts. I even think that it can be encouraging if they offer reasonable prices. That can be a solution.
