World Architecture Festival 2018 | Prominent features of the project
I feel identificated with the opinion of the jury because they appreciate the main objectives of this work. The jury said: “Interesting project made the most of using local techniques and materials and creates a world that is conducive to the environment, whilst also forming a strong architectural definition.”
During the festival, I observed on many other presentations that the jury did questions about ‘environmental responsibility’ and ‘use of local resources’. Those concepts are the base of the project “Piedras Bayas Beachcamp”. On the other side, it was the lowest cost project of the category ‘small project’. For me, it was a great surprise to receive the award between so good projects presented.
Impressions
I believe that the festival was great, an excellent organization, it was in a great city, great projects, great architects… A great experience. I saw around 20 presentations and I can appreciate good discussions on the jury evaluation process.
In Chile so many people are so happy for this award, I have been in a lot of celebrations. Next year, I have been invited to do a workshop about ‘low impact’ in Santa Maria University from Valparaiso.
