MIPIM 2025 marked a turning point where Turkish architecture opened to the world with a collective, strong, and innovative voice.
preparation…
Our preparation process for MIPIM 2025 began long beforehand. This year, aiming to move beyond individual participation, we set out to be present under a collective identity beneath the umbrella of the federation. Therefore, we moved in unison at every stage of the process; from stand design to communication materials, from program coordination to contacts established with investors, we shaped every step through a collective consensus.
Our priority was both to strengthen our corporate identity and to represent Türkiye on the international stage through a professional alliance. At this point, we promoted the shared synergy we created by leveraging our individual differences and strengths. In this respect, compared to singular participation, we established a true united front.
Turkish Architects Federation…
Being there under the name of the Federation was a milestone for us. From the perspective of the attendees, it left a much stronger impact than individual firms trying to make their voices heard one by one.
Our visibility increased, our networking capacity expanded, and a credible power of representation emerged on the international platform.
For us, this was a step that reinforced our mission to be the common voice of Turkish architecture. We do not intend to limit the connections and information gained after MIPIM solely to the duration of the event. In the coming period, we will take steps to make these relationships continuous, establishing regular communication with investors and transforming these connections into sectoral benefits.
In reality, what occurred this year was a change in thinking. Taking the stage with a collective model, instead of the individual, and at times competitively perceived, participation that has persisted for years, set a powerful example for all future international representations.
This approach will guide the federation’s strategies because we now have a corporate representation model. The feedback we received from participants and visitors was truly clear: the strong, organized, and professional representation of Turkey garnered great appreciation. We believe this perception will reflect directly on collaborations in the coming years.
highlights & trends…
Although my attendance at conference sessions was limited due to our intense and restricted schedule, I found the opportunity to follow the agenda topics.
I observed that themes highlighting the program—such as sustainability, the effects of AI on the sector, green finance models, and the adaptation of cities to climate change—overlapped with the topics we follow closely in Türkiye.
Specifically, zero-carbon goals and resilient cities were discussed extensively. The most significant takeaway from this picture for me was confirming that Turkish architecture is progressing along a line parallel to global trends. I believe we are on the right path and that there is vast potential to apply these ideas in our country.
MIPIM 2025 | perspective…
Overall, I can say that MIPIM 2025 exceeded our expectations. Of course, every fair has its own surprises. This year, I was particularly impressed by the technology-focused approaches and mega-projects at certain stands—especially the Saudi Arabian stands. Uzbekistan also demonstrated strong participation with the New Tashkent project.
Furthermore, meeting new investor profiles allowed us to see that the market is shifting in different directions. What was inspiring was being part of a global platform where architecture is viewed as a whole—not just aesthetically, but economically, ecologically, and technologically.
MIPIM’s development & progress…
Frankly, this was our first experience this year. We received some tips from other participants regarding this, but I prefer to continue following their answers from here.
MIPIM 2026…
I can say that we have already started preparations for MIPIM 2026. However, as rggA, we will not take part in the joint stand this year. We are in favor of doing this to ensure equal opportunity for other offices that wish to participate.
This year’s experiences showed us the importance of taking action even earlier. Our goal will be to increase the number of contacts at the fair, which we will attend as visitors, to expand the diversity of representation, and to further strengthen our digital visibility.
We are framing our fundamental recommendation to the Federation not just as showing a physical presence in the fairground, but as taking part as an actor producing content in panels and conferences. We believe that organizing ‘pre-planned’ B2B meetings with investors will increase the efficiency of participation. We foresee that a structure which strongly integrates the academy, the private sector, and public stakeholders will be decisive for the 2026 vision.
