MIPIM 2025 | perspective…
We did not undertake any specific preparations for MIPIM 2025. To be frank, the event’s theme, The Global Urban Festival was not tangibly felt. Rather than being exciting, the topics and discussions in the conference program seemed tailored to what real estate professionals prefer to hear every year. Overall, the event failed to meet my expectations, and I encountered nothing surprising. I observed no noteworthy differences compared to previous years.
Regarding Türkiye’s presence on the MIPIM stage, the country is perceived as an exotic investment destination due to the lack of a consistent participation track record over the last 20 years. The fact that we participate with numerous institutions and representatives one year, only to have a very limited presence the next, highlights a significant issue with consistency.
Regular participation must be maintained for at least 10 years through institutions such as the Ministry, the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), or GYODER. A team composed of competent individuals for information dissemination must be prepared, and a strong theme must be determined; otherwise, participation remains no different from attending a tourism fair.
