prominent features of ORGATEC 2018
ORGATEC 2018 addressed relevant issues emotionally and provided a whole sector with new sources of creative inspiration. At the same time, with the first class event and congress programme, we succeeded impressively in firmly embedding the socio-political importance of modern working worlds in the thinking of decision makers, and in perfectly combining content and emotions. At the same time, the trade fair managed to identify relevant topics, add an emotional factor and thus provide the industry with new creative momentum. This isn’t found in this form and with this depth at any other industry event. And this is what distinguishes us from other events.
facts and figures
ORGATEC 2018 has successfully transformed itself from being solely a product showcase into an issues focused business event. With more than 63,000 trade
visitors, ORGATEC 2018 achieved an increase in visitors of over 15 percent. ORGATEC 2018 was also convincing in terms of its internationality. On the visitor side, the number of countries represented at the event rose from 118 to 142. In total, significantly more visitors from outside Germany travelled to Cologne for the leading international trade fair for the modern working world. Growth was particularly strong in the share of trade visitors from North America (+42 percent), Central and South America (+42 percent) and EU nations (+33 percent). Increases were also recorded in the number of visitors from Japan (+22 percent) and India (+44 percent). Nearly double the number of visitors came from central Europe.
What especially pleases us is the wealth of ideas and the diversity with which companies approached the central theme at this ORGATEC – the future of work. ORGATEC has thus once again proven to be the creative think tank of the industry.
main theme
In today’s modern information society, the working conditions in the office have developed into a central productivity factor in past years. Not only because every second employee in the meantime works at an office workplace, but also because the course is set for the subsequent value creation processes in the offices. It is precisely for these reasons that the technical, spatial, structural and cultural prerequisites must be established that ultimately also have an impact in changed office and other environments. Which is why ORGATEC has taken up precisely this theme.
In addition to the presentation of innovative products and solutions, it is also the task of a leading international trade event to think ahead, to inspire companies and trade visitors and to sometimes polarise with progressive and controversial approaches and point out unsuspected alternatives. Which is why we have selected “culture@work” as our motto for 2018. The presentation of companies at the trade fair also impressively demonstrated the level of creativity with which this motto was taken up.
foresight for ORGATEC 2020
It’s surely still a little too early. We will now evaluate the results of this trade fair and subsequently define strategies for the upcoming edition, together with the segment, from industry to the trade.
